Not only do I now own four (yes, four) reusable Publix shopping bags--I now have a constant in-car reminder to actually remember to bring them inside the store with me (a problem I have faced on more than one occasion, hence the need for four bags--I keep buying more). Introducing the "Bring your bags" sticker, which Publix is handing out for free in its stores. Simply cling the sticker inside your car's windshield near the edge (probably a better idea than directly on your rear-view mirror as the accompanying photo so wrongly does), and voila--instant reminder to grab the bags from the trunk and be on your merry shopping way.
The stickers--decked out in that knowing Publix green--have a tiny logo on them for "Green Routine," which is the company's corporate environmental sustainability program. Also a nice marketing ploy, if you ask me. I've found that the sticker also serves as a convenient reminder that I need to go to the store in the first place, replacing the age-old "Don't forget milk and bread" Post-Its on my computer monitor of years past.
