I had this boyfriend. Once. Who was really into zombies. I mean, really, scarily into them. Zombie books, zombie movies, zombie conversations - the whole nine. Sears apparently also had this boyfriend since they've devoted an entire section of their site, marketing and product lines to...zombies.
Seems unbelievable, right? Sears must know what I thought was a little-known fact: men love zombies. And maybe women do too, and I was just left out of that class. I can't be sure.
There's a zombie gift guide (zombies like gifts? I thought they were dead?!), blue zombie crew (complete with brains on a platter), My Dead TV (for videos), Undead Twitter Feed (bit of a stretch), and get this - a Zombie Friend Maker. Wowza. That's some serious creativity Sears.
While it may not appeal to me, this Halloween promo certainly got more than a few votes from the big wigs at Sears. From the looks of it, the demographic is tweens to early 20s, more of the side of heavily male. Makes sense, but I wonder how big of a boost they'll get.
Are you a zombie fanatic? Think Sears is on the right path? Or know of a retailer with an even spookier marketing campaign? Tell us about it here!
